We Need You & You Need Us
Let the museum help renew your spirit and skills through our convenient volunteer work hours. Volunteering at the museum will be a win-win. You win by learning new skills and exploring our intriguing local history. The museum wins by expanding our volunteer staff group so that we can continue to offer interesting and appealing exhibits and programs for the community.
The Museum offers you the opportunity to enhance your abilities and experiences in designing and constructing exhibits, doing research, working with our databases and cataloging incoming donations. Enjoy working with volunteers who have fun while doing work vital to the future of our community. Volunteer workers include upper middle school students through adults of all ages.
Flexible Volunteer Hours
Museum volunteer hours are flexible and include daytime, evening and weekend opportunities. Even 1 to 2 hours several times a month or helping with an event assists the museum to achieve its mission. Volunteer staff members are available to work with you at different times of the day throughout each week. One of our scheduled work periods is sure to fit your needs.
The Museum is a city entity with only 3 part-time staff positions. The Curator, Assistant Curator and Registrar are city staff members who each receive a small stipend for their work. The individuals in these city positions work many hours a week and volunteer much of their time beyond the limited amount of time that their stipend covers. They need your help!
